RIB 2019 Year in Review

These past 12 months have been transformative. With new products, partners and clients, 2019 was another year of growth for RIB. We started 2019 with a set of audacious goals, but the efforts and achievements of our teams at RIB have surpassed our expectations. Before we look back, we would like to sincerely thank all of you for joining us on this journey.

Highlights from RIB 2019

Fueling innovation & educating the next generation

In 2019, we launched a series of technical workshops, seminars, MTWO hackathons, and education sessions to educate next-generation construction talents, along with exchanging experiences, sharing first-hand case studies to develop the technology solutions that support construction, real estate and infrastructure enterprises to plan and execute their projects on one connected platform.

Spanning worldwide collaboration

In 2019 we invested MSPs and innovative tech companies specializing in cloud technology, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analysis, blockchain, and ERP solutions. We are building up a construction technology community to empower our customers to digitally transform their business.

 

Published the first iTWO 4.0 tutorial book

As BIM and its adoption continues to gather pace, China Railway Engineering Design Consulting Group, one of the first clients of the iTWO 4.0 platform in China, published “Collaboration Platform for BIM Application – Mastering iTWO 4.0” with Mr. Xiaogang Wang, General Manager of the Information Technology Division of the China Railway Jinan Institute, as the editor-in-chief. As a tutorial material for BIM technology talent training project, this book gives a detailed introduction of iTWO 4.0 overview, 5D BIM virtual simulation, main modules, and best practices.

Supporting the digital management of China’s leading prefab plant

Myhome is a large-scale comprehensive listed group headquartered in Wuhan, China. The company specializes in real estate, urban land development, prefabrication, and industrial new towns. RIB’s iTWO 4.0 (for Operation Management) and RIB SAA’s PPS (For Production Management) are serving as the current core operation system in its first domestic prefab plant – Jiangxia prefabrication plant.

Set up new JV to enhance building and planning efficiency

RIB and Saint-Gobain set up a joint venture SGTWO in Germany. SGTWO combines Saint-Gobain’s rich competence in innovative building solutions with RIB’s 5D BIM and AI technologies. The objective of the JV is to improve the method of modular building and planning in an enhanced 5D BIM solution. Read more >>

Innovating with the RIB Community

In November, RIB top executives from all international business groups came together to connect, share, learn and inspire at iTWO Bauhaus 4.0 Masters Summit. We are running together to turn advanced technologies such as cloud, AI, IoT, and data analytics, etc. into the most advanced software solutions to solve more complex challenges in the construction industry. Released the first Bauhaus 4.0 film

2019 marks the 100th anniversary of Bauhaus, an influential art and design movement. In the age of digitalization, the Bauhaus movement gains new significance. To this end, RIB launched the Bauhaus 4.0 Initiative and produced the film “Bauhaus Meets Hong Kong” which explores how art was expressed in historical eras and how in the 21st century, Bauhaus, combined with AI and digital technologies, will be redefined by Generation Z to address new challenges on the planet. Walter Gropius Prize awarded for the first time

On the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus, the Walter Gropius Prize was awarded this year to three outstanding personalities for their contributions to the transformation of infrastructure, cities, and academia: Klaus Wowereit (former mayor of Berlin). Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Grube (former Chairman of the Board of Management of Deutsche Bahn AG). Prof. Martin Fischer (Professor at Stanford University). Out and about

We hosted and attended many events in 2019. Among the highlights:

BIM World Munich, the biggest BIM event in the DACH area, and EXPO REAL 2019, international trade fair for property and investment. We were excited to talk about how iTWO technology can make construction more productive, less costly and more sustainable.

RIB and Cloud A2K jointly launched MTWO Cloud at the Future Of Construction Forum in Sydney. Together with Cloud A2K, we were rolling out MTWO Cloud into the Australian construction and real estate industries.

Our own RIB SAA held Engineering Days in Austria, a worldwide platform addressing the latest trends and technologies in the precast industry. We showcased how iTWO smart production intelligent solution can support prefabrication projects from design, production, to construction site.

We held a BIM digital construction forum in Shenzhen, where we showcased how MTWO Construction Cloud platform connects all people, processes, and data in one place and explored the future of digital construction with contractors, developers, and project owners in China.

Continued strong growth

In the first 9 months of 2019:

Group revenues increase by 59.7% to € 151.6 million;

Recurring revenues grow by 95.0% to € 77.6 million;

Number of MTWO/iTWO 4.0 platform users grows by 113.9%
